Description
We are seeking a motivated Data Science Intern from the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) to join the Alshival.Ai team for a 6-8 week internship program. This role is designed for students or recent graduates eager to apply their analytical and technical skills in real-world projects.
As a Data Science Intern, you will work alongside experienced data scientists and engineers to:
Explore large datasets and identify meaningful patterns.
Build and test machine learning models.
Assist with data cleaning, transformation, and visualization.
Contribute to analytics dashboards and reporting pipelines that support decision-making.
Build and deploy Ai-assistants across a wide-range of industries.
This internship will provide you with hands-on exposure to the entire data lifecycle, from raw data ingestion to model deployment.
Currently pursuing or recently obtained a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field at UTRGV.
Familiarity with Python and libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn.
Basic understanding of machine learning concepts (classification, regression, clustering).
Comfortable working with data visualization tools (Matplotlib, Seaborn, or Power BI).
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret quantitative results.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Nice-to-Have:
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
Experience with version control (Git/GitHub).
